Zero F*cks Given

PEACE!

PEACE!

I recently posted the blog, 3 Motivational Books To Read In August  2017  wherein I included "Mark Manson’s" book The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life Manson’s point of view is that we should live life based on what feels good regardless of what other's think: zero f*cks given: thus the title of this blog.

If you‘ve been following my blog for a while, you know that my mission is about transforming lives and helping others reach their goals. I try to inspire others by offering tips on how to live their very best life. However, this often includes two difficult steps: forgiveness and letting go. Though letting go comes relatively easy for me, the forgiveness part does not.

As a person who thrives to be better and to promote positivity in other’s lives, you can see how problematic this is for me. But luckily, through my yoga practice I got a very clear message. Letting go is forgiving. As I see it, forgiving doesn’t mean that you accept the person’s behavior, or that you accept what they do, or have done, you’re simply letting go, aka, “zero f*cks given.”

For me, this means that I no longer think about the person(s) that hurt me or my family. I no longer take into account their feelings or what they might think, need or want. Zero f*cks given is returning your attention to self. Feeding your soul the medicine it needs, and that means turning away from difficult people and “drama” and turning your attention to the things that truly make you happy and inspire you to live your very best life.

A few years ago (2004) I wrote a song titled It’s My Life, you can take a listen here, but the chorus goes like this:

I’ll do what I haven’t done,

Go where I haven’t been,

Stop just letting the years pass by.

I’ll Say what I want to say,

Be where I want to be,

Gonna love, who I want love,

It’s my LIFE!

As you can see, I’ve been trying to live by the “zero f*cks given” rule for some time now, but it’s taken me this long to really get it. To really put into action what I feel in my soul. To have the courage to say, I care about me more than I care about you. To say, you no longer exist in my world. To say, you hurt me and my family and I no longer need or want to put up with that behavior. Saying this, and really feeling it, is truly liberating. And now, I’m ready to live, after all It’s My Life, no?

I encourage you to responsibly implement the “zero f*cks given” rule. Take care of your heart and soul, and let go of things that weigh you down--especially if they are truly out of your control. When you let go without resentment, without malice, and let go because your soul is urging you to feel better or else, then your life can and will transform for the better.
